Surrender to Me is the kind of book that I will return to again and again. I love the relationship between Taggart and Rylee, not just the kink, but also the romance. In some ways one could call this a typical romance -- boy meets girl, boy and girl get to know each other, some problem crops up to drive them apart, the solve it and live happily ever after. All that happens here, only within the context of a serious BDSM power exchange between a sadist and a masochist who's not quite sure she's submissive. Taggart thinks he isn't capable of love due to his childhood and Rylee isn't at all sure about this whole "submissive" business. She's always viewed BDSM as a game and hasn't had the opportunity or interest to take it out of the scenes at a club and into real life, but Taggart offers her the chance. And what a chance it turns out to be! Their interactions as he trains her and they become closer are so realistic. Definitely a keeper here.Product details

Miss Thompson graciously allowed me to read and review an ARC, which I'd asked her for (probably 'begged for' is more accurate). Hands up again; she is also one of my 'Go-To' authors. Having said all that....
Loved this story; all the characters (even evil Simon); the great writing.
"“Alice,” Rylee tried to scream, but it came out only as a gurgle against the invasive ball that pressed her tongue back toward her throat. Panicked terror had changed the blood in her veins to ice, and her entire body tensed as she jerked in her cuffs. This couldn’t be happening. The guy couldn’t possibly think this was sane, consensual behavior."
There's some 'hairy-scary' parts too, which I enjoyed. Not knowing where the story was going all the time, held my interest and quickened the pace. I didn't want to put it down. It also has one of the best epilogues I've read; a real one. -) It also acts as a segue to the next in the series but you'll have to read it to find out. Books 3/4 are looking really interesting.
I actually liked it more than #1 in this series Secrets. STM has one of the best Dom's I've come across to-date. Not only gorgeous, sexy, strong and erotically sadistic but one who shows a gamut of feelings; who allowed his vulnerabilities and insecurities to show while retaining his strength. I have to attribute this to the writing skills of Miss Thompson.
Again and again, through reading her books, a 'vanilla' like myself, learns about the BDSM community. BDSM 'old-timers' will love it too particularly because the lifestyle is shown in a positive and invitingly hot way. You lucky people ;-).
There is a beautiful and extremely sensual relationship building between main characters, Rylee and Taggart. Both have baggage to offload, and in their joining they can rid themselves of it. Of course, there's angst and tears along the way but the budding love story between them wins out. There is even some 'romance' between the two. A welcome but unusual aspect of this author's writing; it worked and I hope she will incorporate more of it in her future books. BDSM does not have to be without either romance or 'children' in the mix. I'd like to see Miss Thompson tackle that feature within a BDSM (love) story.
I honestly think this is the best of Miss Thompson's writing to date. She just gets better; no mean feat after so many published books. I recommend it to all lovers of BDSM whether practising or watching from the sidelines, like me.

She couldn’t have moved if she tried, her limbs heavy, her body completely relaxed, her spirit utterly at peace. “You did great, Rylee. I’m so proud of you.” “Hmmm,” was all she could manage to reply, though warmth spread through her at his praise. “Happy birthday, baby,” he added as he gently stroked her cheek with two fingers. “I love you.”
Wow! I am totally in love with this book - it is so freakin' hot! The BDSM scenes are intense, believable, well written - and very steamy. There is a lot more to this book than just sex though - it has a sweet romantic storyline, lots of humour, plenty of emotion and fabulous characters. I think this is the third book that I've read by this author now, and although I really enjoyed the other two books, this one is by far my favourite - it's fabulous!
Rylee is a strong, independent woman with a heavy masochistic streak. She craves the pain a Dom can give her - but she is definitely not submissive. But when she meets Taggart (aka The Leather Master) she begins to crave his control and he sets out to show her that there is a submissive hiding behind the walls she's put up to protect himself. Rylee starts to fall for Taggart, but he has a painful past and doesn't believe in love. Is Rylee's heart going to get broken?
Both Rylee and Taggart were great characters, I instantly liked both of them and felt connected to them. Both of them were very well drawn with lots of layers to their characters. Their relationship felt natural and I really believed that they belonged together - and boy oh boy did they have great chemistry! This is a very entertaining, enjoyable book that receives five stars.

Loved this story, as always Claire writes a very well done story, her BDSM stories are spot on. Love is found and is the not the sweetest ending no matter the genre? Good read don't miss out, recommended.
I'm like the reviewer from a while back - love reading books - not so fond of writing reviews. But I do like Clair's books. Always enjoy them, the characters and the storylines are always well done. So, this one is no exception. I'm never disappointed with Claire Thompson
This is the second book in the BDSM Connections series and I have fallen in love. The men are flawed and have thier own issues but through there Dominant of thier submissive and the strong women they are drawn to, they find thier way to love. The women are not perfect but thier love light the way for ther doms. Love the connections that are created in these books. Sexy BDSM scenes and fun, heartfelt moments are plenty in this book.
Another good story line by Ms. Thompson. D/s scenes are delicious. Taggart is a very strong man with secrets making him think he cannot love or be loved. Rylee has different ideas. This book can be read as a stand-alone. Friends in the story are very likeable. You will want to read their stories in the rest of the series.
